I got the idea for this after using many computers in quick succession where Firefox was not installed. Note that I find it usable, despite a few known bugs.
Friedfox press release:
For immediate releaseJHU Student Launches Small, Universal Firefox Package (Johns Hopkins University, Baltimore, MD) - A Johns Hopkins University cognitive science student has created a small distribution of the famous Firefox web browser to run on kiosk computers with a single click. The Friedfox package, found at http://friedfox.mozdev.org/, provides an one-click access to the open-source browser from Internet Explorer and other Windows web browsers.
On the heels of the Firefox 1.0 release, Friedfox has updated and shipped its first release. The project, having achieved the goal of an "instant-on" firefox, is now looking for future project goals. The Mozilla Foundation has provided Mozdev resources for the project, giving us a web site and mailing lists.
Laroia, who has been using Firefox since before it was called that, has been fiddling with open-source code since he installed GNU/Linux in 1999.
Only wimps use tape backup: real men just upload their important stuff on ftp, and let the rest of the world mirror it.
